The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber has launched a bold new entrepreneurship programme aimed at empowering the next generation of business leaders in Gqeberha. With a focus on innovation, mentorship, and real-world business skills, the initiative is designed to ignite youth-led economic growth and tackle rising unemployment in the region.

The programme targets aspiring young entrepreneurs with tailored support, including business incubation, training, and access to funding networks. It also encourages collaboration between the private sector, educational institutions, and community stakeholders to create a dynamic, inclusive ecosystem for local enterprise.

“This is about building future-ready entrepreneurs who can drive meaningful change in our city,” said Chamber CEO Denise van Huyssteen. “We’re investing in our youth so they can build the businesses that will shape tomorrow’s economy.”

As economic challenges deepen across the country, the Chamber’s initiative signals a proactive shift towards grassroots development and sustainable job creation—starting with the youth of Nelson Mandela Bay.
