Every young dream begins with someone who believes in it. At the Thandanani Drop Inn Centre, that belief came to life as Super Sun’s holiday programme gave learners a glimpse of what’s possible.

In Mamelodi East, Super Sun hosted 50 Grade 8 and 9 learners for a day of career inspiration, creativity, and mentorship as part of its Super Sun Super Together campaign. Volunteers from Super Sun and Big Save led the day, helping learners explore subject choices, potential careers, and the confidence to pursue their dreams.

Local entrepreneur Portia Mokoena, founder of Swima la Portia, shared her story of turning passion into purpose, while FundiConnect offered learners free career assessments to identify their strengths and interests. The event also featured talks by young business owners, youth mentors, and industry experts who showcased opportunities in business, retail, sport, and beyond.

The day ended with the Super Sun Super Together song competition—an energetic celebration of teamwork, self-belief, and creativity.

“Days like this remind us why we do this work,” said Thabo Kgotsi, founder of Thandanani. “When you give children a chance to dream and express themselves, their entire outlook changes. That’s community empowerment in action.”
