Galp Moçambique, in partnership with AIESEC, has launched Vocational Light, a four-week vocational guidance programme at two high schools in Maputo. The initiative is designed to support students aged 14 to 20 as they explore different professional fields and discover educational and career pathways.
Each session in the programme offers interactive workshops led by Galp mentors and AIESEC volunteers, delivering hands-on exposure to roles in sectors such as energy, business, and engineering. Participating students gain first-hand insights into workplace environments, helping them understand the link between school subjects and future career options.
The initiative builds on Galp’s ongoing relationship with AIESEC, including prior collaboration through a local internship scheme and career development training. These efforts underscore the company’s commitment to developing Mozambican youth and aligning education with job market realities. Leaders from both organisations emphasise the value of the programme in equipping young people to make informed decisions about their academic and professional futures. The vocational guidance scheme marks a meaningful step towards enhancing youth empowerment and long-term socio-economic progress in Mozambique.
