Measuring change in 2025

The Star Foundation, LottoStar’s CSR arm, reports expanded impact across South Africa in 2025, driven by partnerships that target education, mobility, hunger relief and homelessness. Its “Back to School with Qhubeka” campaign donated 50 bicycles to learners in North West, improving attendance and creating local jobs in assembly and maintenance.

Inclusive mobility remains a priority. The foundation renewed support for Jumping Kids with R600,000 for custom prosthetic fitments and ongoing care for 16 children, while a year-long collaboration with SA Harvest moved over 180 tonnes of rescued food in three months—equating to roughly 700,000 meals across four provinces.

In the Western Cape, nearly R2 million is backing two U-turn centres that have delivered more than 24,000 essential services since May 2025. Additional funding of R2.5 million is helping Little Angels in Hout Bay scale schooling, daily meals for up to 1,000 people, safe housing and youth programmes.

Literacy and youth development feature strongly. A R1.2 million partnership with Help2Read has trained 23 young women to run reading support in under-resourced schools, while a five-year “Crew for a Cause” programme funds scholarships for 10 learners at top-tier Western Cape schools. A R500,000 contribution to Community Keepers supports mental health services for more than 3,000 learners.

Together, these initiatives reflect a practical model of social investment that links resources to measurable outcomes across provinces and sectors.
