The Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) Entrepreneurship Development Academy (EDA) in partnership with the Walmart Foundation, will be hosting an in-person research launch to showcase our work in developing township-based entrepreneurs, and would like to invite you to attend.
The research, titled “PIVOT or PERISH: How Entrepreneurs Overcame Lockdown Uncertainty in South Africa’s Townships”, will provide insight and best practice on how to support entrepreneurs based in townships, such that township enterprises become key players in the economy.
A synopsis of some of our findings from our two-year programme will be revealed during the event and we invite you to register to attend the breakfast event.
The authors of the paper, Prof. Kerrin Myres, Prof. Anastacia Mamabolo and Sean Smith conducted the research on a two-year-long programme that impacted more than 200 retail sector entrepreneurs in townships across six provinces. The results of the research stems from a two-year programme made possible through generous grant funding support from the Walmart Foundation.
Please note, you have to RSVP to attend the invite as this is by invite only. We will be practicing social distancing and using masks and keeping the event at a safe capacity for the venue. You will have to produce your proof of vaccination to be allowed entry on the premises or a negative PCR test not older than 72 hours (at your own expense).
