Fred Swaniker is the founder of the African Leadership Group, comprising the African Leadership Academy, the African Leadership University, ALX and The Room – a series of institutions on the African continent with an ambition of developing three million leaders for Africa by 2035.
Swaniker was born in Ghana and, from the age of four, has lived in The Gamibia, Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mauritius. He has spent 20 years in the education of Africa’s future leaders, where he’s realised that the wealth of the continent lies, not within its mineral resources but within its people.
