International Mandela Day – a day the United Nation chose to honour the Late President on his birthday. Instead of celebrating his birthday to honour him, Madiba called on the people of the world to honour him by helping their communities.

We at CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA call on you to celebrate our community. For us every day is Mandela Day and hence we urge people supporting his vision to participate in sustainable interventions with lasting impact.

With a national footprint, CHOC’s seven regional offices offer services and support to the nine provinces of South Africa are ready and available to partner with you. We remain committed to ensure we reach every child, teenager and family battling cancer or a life-threatening blood disorder in South Africa.

Children need complete balanced nutrition for adequate growth, neurodevelopment and a strong immune system. Nutrition is key component during cancer treatment as the child will need to cope with cancer treatment as well as the nutrition-related side effects to prevent malnutrition and infections
