Access to clean water and sanitation is a Nelson Mandela Day focus area and forms part of Goal 8 of the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
In line with this, the Hollywood Foundation is focusing on social issues that are affecting the quality of life for South Africans, on a daily basis.

The Hollywood Foundation is committing to a nationwide sanitation programme worth R1 million to communities in need. This programme will be a year-long roll-out to nine provinces, for communities that suffer from unique water supply constraints.

As a caring organisation, the Hollywood Foundation prides itself in making meaningful contributions whilst making a sustainable impact. The communities that will benefit from the programme are those that continue to face challenges in the supply of hygienic water, some of them include communities who have no access to water as a result of the recent KZN floods which damaged infrastructure.
The Hollywood Foundation is “moving the nation, one drop at a time”, under the theme for Mandela Day this year, “Do what you have, with what you can, where you are”.
